Happy Birthday.......

Since my last post both Lauren and I are a year older and as there are only 2 days between our birthdays we celebrated with a special birthday tea on Thursday night, the highlight being the yummy chocolate cake. Due to holidays and other things, Lauren had her "official" party several weeks ago and was joined by school and church friends at Snakes 'n Ladders. Judging by the colour of their faces they all had a great time!

Roy and the girls sent me some beautiful flowers for my birthday and I have a new hairstyle!! for anyone who knows me, it's goodbye to the spikes whilst I grow my hair into a longer style.

I don't normally like to post photos of myself but in case my children ever want to remember what I looked like without grey hair and wrinkles, I let Lauren take this photo of me.

....and just so she doesn't feel left out, here is one of Amy

The next big event sees Amy turning 2 towards the end of August. She is a Peppa Pig fanatic!! (and secretly, I have a fondness for Peppa too) and so I decided to make some Peppa Pig themed invitations for our forthcoming family gathering, it would of course have been cheaper to buy them but I had fun making them! I am posting a picture of the invitation especially for Auntie Jenni and Uncle Ben as I don't think Peppa would survive the trip to NZ!!

This weekend sees us heading off to England to spend time with Roy's family. Lauren is really looking forward to spending time with her cousins and we are planning a trip to Legoland, which Lauren loves while we are there. When we return there will only be about 3 weeks before Lauren starts school - but that is another blog post!!

I've moved my photos for the daily photo challenge to a separate blog my space. Have a peek.
Also in the world of blogging, the Hopkinson family who recently left Bangor for Nepal to be missionaries are recording their adventure. It's well worth a read.

Phew! Marathon post over! I won't get a chance to post again before we go away so I thought I would leave you a "then and now" photo of Lauren - See you soon!

Have a great trip away.

Beautiful shot of you. I hate portraits of myself.
